Golden Palm Halong Hotel

Everything was fine with the property - comfortable, great location.

The ventilation of the rooms - we are non-smokers and in the hotel smoking is prohibited, but somebody in our floor was smoking all the time. When we arrived and entered to our room for the first time - the feeling was like someone just finished cigarete in the room just before our arrival. We have asked to change the room while we went out for dinner. After we got back the staff said they are sorry, but there are no spare rooms in the hotel and they spoke with our neighbors, that smoking is not allowed in the hotel. We stayed there for one night and we woke up 3 times because of the fumes from the cigarette… I think - they didn’t get punished for smoking…

Hospitality was excellent and friendly staff. Nice view of boats coming in.

Location not the best in terms of town activities. Limited choices of restaurants in the area for fine dining. Nil shopping opportunities nearby.

The hotel was comfortable, organized, and clean. They even agreed to let us use their kitchen to cook dinner because there were no restaurants around.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Nice clean comfortable hotel which has rooms with balconies offering lovely views overlooking Ha Long Bay! The hotel is nicely furnished and the rooms are spacious and well equipped. We chose this hotel as it is very near to where the overnight cruises depart from. Breakfast was included and again you can get some great views from the top floor of the hotel where breakfast is served! Staff were very friendly and helpful! The hotel kept our luggage for us whilst we went on a one night cruise.

Unfortunately, as previously mentioned by other guests, the area where the hotel is located is like a ghost town! There aren't any nice restaurants nearby to eat and just a few local shops selling snacks and the like! It's a pity the hotel doesn't have a restaurant serving dinner.

Exceptional Stay at Golden palm hotelMy wife and I had an outstanding experience at Golden palm hotel. The rooms were incredibly spacious, very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The view from our balcony was beautiful, adding to the overall charm of our stay.The host was exceptionally honest, pleasant, and always ready to help. She went above and beyond to assist us with booking a cruise, renting motorcycles, and arranging a minibus transfer to our next destination. All of these services were provided with great fairness and at very reasonable prices.The breakfast was delicious, and overall, our stay was lovely.

During the less busy months, the town does feel a bit like a ghost town, and there aren’t many nearby restaurants — but a scooter solves that easily, as you can ride a short distance and reach Ha Long.

After being in Ha Noi and Sapa and the amount of traffic it was fantastic to be in a place that was quiet. The area is very quiet, almost jarring at times. But the place is amazing and the staff work so hard. They also arranged a Queen Cruise for us which was brilliant.

The internet speed was pretty ordinary if streaming on phone. But you could still search the web and use maps etc. also be mindful not to expect a huge array of restaurants. But the ones there were very good

The room was spacious and very comfortable with a lovely view over the harbour.

Lovely view over the sea where one can observe both the city and the entrance to the bay. Helpful staff. There are a few shops and cafes nearby (within 10 minutes walk). If going on a cruise, it s taking anywhere between 20-30 min walking but the hotel offers to arrange a transfer for a convenient price.

Breakfast relatively modest but satisfactory using into consideration the price of the room.

New hotel with modern facilities. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was super friendly. They arranged us everything we asked for, even a shuttle to our cruise on the last minute. There’s a coffee shop/bar at the ground floor where you can get some good coffee.

Not much happening around, not many restaurants. Empty streets.

The hotel is a nicely maintained property with required facility

Only thing that is that it is situated in a remote place. Some members of my family did not like this lonelyness but I liked very much as farthest from the crowds

Clean and spacious room, very comfortable. Phuong is very nice, friendly and efficient person. She communicates well and organised everything smoothly.

Staff was friendly, it was near the cruise pick up spot, good to rest for a day before or after the cruise trip. Can be quiet during spring season. More busy during summer. Hotel staff is friendly. It’s a decent drive away from Sun World which is nice to visit

Many shops are closed around the area during off peak period which is fair, they do their best to accommodate their guest which is good enough

Very well priced, very quiet hotel right next to the harbour where the Halong cruises go out. Breakfast was a bit average but not bad. Lovely views out towards the bay mountains.

The staff was helpful and tried to accommodate my requests. They kept my luggage for me even after I checked out overnight so I thought that was great of them.. the view from the bedroom is fantastic

I specifically asked reception if it was okay for me to come for breakfast at 9:00 a.m. as it was closing at 9:30. I asked the previous night and I was told yes. But on that morning I got a message asking if I can come earlier because other guests have finished. I did not like that at all. It was only a request but I don't want to be at the mercy of other guests and I specifically asked the previous day. I got the message at about 8:30 so it's not going to be possible for me too rush down on such notice. The breakfast amount was just sufficient for the four of us so it did not feel like a full scale buffet. Besides somebody came 15 minutes after we did.. so we were not the last.Some of the information I was given beforehand was not true like the cost of the electric car and also the amount of luggage I could keep in it. This would have been a big problem had I made plans based on what they had told me earlier.I was told there were many restaurants around the hotel where I could get dinner.packed. But in fact that was only one in total and even that was a buffet which obviously could not be packed. Hence I did not have dinner on that day. I found that the hotel intentionally give me wrong information so that I would be forced to eat at the buffet. The area around the hotel is dark and lonely and not comfortable to walk around in the night.

Owner was very helpful. She arranged all the taxis even from the airport and to the airport and made sure we got on them which was reassuring considering I didn't speak any Vietnames and she just about spoke English.

Amazing hotel for this price with an awesome view, I got to see sunrise from my room, breakfast was also nice. Shower was working well. Clean. Staff attentive. Would come back for sure.

Staff couldn’t have been more helpful - we were struggling to get a Halong bay cruise booked & they sorted it for us, along with transfers & taxi back to airport. Bedroom spacious, great view & very comfortable

Area is very quiet & not many restaurants - but this suited us for that night as we were only staying for 1 night & was close to the port.

Left our bags here whilst on a Ha Long Bay cruise since we were staying the night before and again a few days later. They kept the bags safely in a closed room. They also did laundry service which used lovely-smelling detergent.Room was comfy!
